Rumor mill: Track-only Sesto Elemento to cost $2.5m, will top 219mph

Lamborghini Sesto Elemento

The rumor mill has kept churning ever since we heard of Lamborghini Sesto Elemento. Lamborghini showed its many teasers before it was finally showcased at 2010 Paris Motor show. It was confirmed for production in November the same year and crowned with the most expensive car title at a price tag of $2.92 million in May 2011. However, there always remained ambiguity over the information provided about one of the most brutal cars in the world. Sesto Elemento was earlier reported to come in a limited number of 20 units with almost the same features that it had in concept form. Just to recapitulate, it was reported to feature the 5.2-liter V10 engine from Gallardo Superleggera with a power output of 570hp and 540 Nm of torque. Engine is aligned with six-gear e-gear transmission that makes it sprint from 0-62 mph in 2.5 seconds, equaling Bugatti Veyron’s runtime and its top speed somewhere close to 200 mph. Other information related to the car always remained questionable. Now, there are some reports originating about the car. It was earlier reported that Sesto Elemento would be a road legal car, but Automobile Magazine reports that it will be a track only car and will have a top speed of 219 mph instead of 200 mph reported earlier. Also, it is to cost just under $2.5 million compared to $2.92 million reported earlier and this could take ‘world’s most expensive car’ title away from it. These are, again, rumors with no legitimacy. Sesto Elemento is scheduled to enter production in 2013 and we hope that its production version will come by the end of this year. Keep your fingers crossed and we’ll keep you updated on the whole drama. [gallery link="file" orderby="rand"] Via: Topspeed / AM

Chinese fan adds bling to Lambo’s aggression

gold plated Lamborghini Murcielago 2

It seems that China has rich people and Lambos in plenty and they love to see it in gilded avatar – be it gold foil wrap or paint. In either of the two conditions, you need deep pockets to support your desire. We have many gold plated cars covered on Autochunk and some of them are from China. Don’t be surprised, if we are to introduce you with another gold plated car in Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster from China. Moreover, it’s not that foil wrap but a gold plaint all over the body including wheels. The monster now adds bling to its aggression. The shining beauty was spotted by Carnewschina reader, Holy-Smoke in the underground parking in the city of Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province. Just to remind all the Lambo fans, the monster comes equipped with a 6.5 liter V12 engine that churns out a massive 631hp and 660 Nm of peak torque. The beautiful beast touches the 100km/h from a standstill in 3.4 seconds, en route to its top speed of 330 km/h. I don’t really make it out what is it that makes wealthy people give their already beautiful cars a golden wrap. It's nothing more than a pompous parade of excessive wealth. Nevertheless, the wealthy people won’t stop here and we will get such wheels in future too. So keep your fingers crossed until we strike with another beautiful car wrapped in gold. Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 Hong Kong 20th Anniversary Edition 0

In order to celebrate the Kingsway Car’s 20th anniversary as the official Lambo dealership in Hong Kong, Lamborghini has recently commissioned Gallardo LP550-2 limited edition, which will be exclusively available through Kingsway Cars Ltd. To be made in a very limited run of eight units only, Lamborghini unveiled Gallardo LP550-2 Hong Kong 20th Anniversary Edition at The Cyberport Arcade in Hong Kong. The base remains the same to that of Gallardo LP550-2; however, it will come with some cosmetic changes to make it look better, even more dynamic. Kingsway Car’s 20th Anniversary Gallardo is to shine in solid white paintwork with gold stripes running all the way from the front to roof and engine bonnet at the rear. Front and rear bumpers now come stamped with special HK20 logos. While the matte black finish has been applied to the side skirts and rear spoiler, side mirrors get matte white finish. Adding more to the overall looks are matte gold finished ‘Cordelia’ rims. Its interiors include mostly black upholstery as the seats are made of black Alcantara material with Q-citura quilted stitching and the pedal gear shifter are dipped in red paint that contrast well with the black interior layout. The powertrain enables the car to jump from a naught to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, before it touches a top speed of 320km/h. To remind you the fact that Lamborghini Gallardo LP550-2 HK 20th Anniversary Edition will be available at Kingsway Car Ltd. Each exclusive Gallardo will have a price tag of HK$3,680,000 which equals to 378,000 euros at the current exchange rate. [gallery link="file" orderby="rand"] Via: GTspirit

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder from a watermelon makes a sweet bite

Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder from a watermelon

We’ve seen some incredible creations from China and they certainly rid the country of to those duplicity allegations. They’ve proved it more than once and here is another amazing creation: Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder carved out of a water melon. It may not gush on the road with those thumping ponies as the real one does or last too long either, but it's certainly an eye-treat to any diehard Lambo fan. The creation comes from a Chinese genius, Ming Peng King, who does the amazing feat in just a couple of hours. He takes a watermelon and meticulously chisels it adhering to the exact details of the Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder. You can witness it in marvelous art form that has identical miniature wheels, interior, wing, seats, mirror, steering wheel, and lights from melon skin complete the whole package. However, for such an astonishing creation all you need is a watermelon, sharp eye for the minutest of details and above all, a very healthy imagination. Once you look at this miniature Lambo, you just can’t help but appreciate the marvel. This reddish Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, though, makes a nice bite, but its flawless form holds me back. German tuner gives Audi R8 V10 a Lamborghini makeover

Audi R8 with Lamborghini doors 2

I don’t know what is it  that makes tuners play with the already beautiful or powerful cars to do little about enhancing their performance or looks at times. Sometimes, they do an amazing job, while on the other they seem good for nothing. However, a German tuner, ABT, has just combined two worlds by introducing a carbon fiber body-kit for Audi R8 V10. Well yes, you read it right. ABT presents a fat-ass body kit whereby it lowers the suspension, adds some extra wings and boosts the 5.2 V10 beast under R8s hood to produce a thumping 600hp and 550 Nm of torque. The figures seem amazing.  This is not all. The tuner has also added Lamborghini doors aka scissor doors to it thus making the beautiful looking Audi R8 even more enticing. The beautiful mule with scissor doors has been spotted at the Audi dealership in Beijing. The car isn’t up for sale yet but only a demonstration model brought to China where standard Audi R8 with V10s is quite popular. The move is intended to check the Chinese interests about this peculiar and one-of-a -kind Audi and to put it in the market accordingly. However, a close look at the scissor doors will make you think if they are as perfect as in any Lambo. [gallery link="file" orderby="rand"] Via: Auto.Sohu

Another Lamborghini clone shows Chinese love for Italian bulls

Diablo Auto’s Lamborghini Diablo replica 1

What Chinese are best at, apart from winning gold medals at Olympics? Well, of course, they duplicate things that are otherwise immaculate in their form and unbeatable if we talk about performance. They have proved it yet again and here is the proof. The Lamborghini Diablo lookalike car comes from China based Diablo Auto and it's fake. Nevertheless, another Lambo clone makes one thing clear that Chinese love Italian bulls and Lamborghini should make a note of it. Two cars, one in purple and another in orange color, were spotted at the Auto Tuning Car Show in Beijing and the vehicle is named Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster. One can easily spot the difference between the original and the replica car as some details go wrong here and some there . The Chinese version of Lamborghini Diablo is created by Li Lin Tao from Diablo Auto who claims to be the first supercar builder from China. However, the fake Lamborghini in question here is a poorly built replica as its roof opens manually, battery located in the passenger’s footwell gives a bad impression and dashboard is poorly managed. If we talk about performance, it will nowhere be close to the real deal as the power comes from Toyota sourced V8 1uz twin-turbo engine, tuned to produce 450 horsepower. On the top of this, Lamborghini Diablo replica features handcrafted bode made from polyester and chassis from steel tubes. The work was completed at Diablo Auto - a small factory based in the wastelands north of Beijing. However, keeping in mind the fact that Lamborghini Diablo was never exported to China, this replica may server well to Lamborghini fans who ever wanted to own one. But, it’s unlikely that Diablo Auto’s Lamborghini Diablo will be street legal and if you want to own one, you may end up driving it in the countryside. Lamborgini Ankonian

Lamborghini cars are all about opulence and they command the respect they get. Mere mention of any car gives goose bumps to the auto nerds; let aside the prospect of owning one. Since its inception, the cars have lured the masses with its sleek design and unbeatable performance. Apart from the cars that roll out from Lamborghini’s factory, there are hundreds of imaginations from designers across the world that are simply awesome and deserve to be in Lamborghini’s cache. Presenting here is a list of Lamborghini concepts that are worth for not only commercialization but will also make Italian brand proud. Lamborghini Ankonian concept The designer: Slavche Tanevsky About the concept: Lamborghini Ankonian concept is the imagination of Slavche Tanevsky who aims to take the design of Reventon to the next level while managing a unique impression at the same time. Flaunting a more aggressive design, which is scaled to comply with the eco friendly traits. However, the designer doesn’t mention hybrid or any other technology for the purpose. Named after a bull type famous for black hair, Slavche imagines Ankonian with a mid engine layout and features OLED embedded between surfaces that function as headlights. Lamborghini Madura concept The designer: Slavche Tanevsky About concept: Lamborghini Madura concept is, again, the brainchild of Slavche Tanevsky. The design is created in collaboration with Lamborghini and Audi designers and Salvche presents the first hybrid Lamborghini aimed for 2016. Named after Madura – an Indonesian island famous for bull races, Lamborghini Madura concept takes Lamborghini’s design language and performance credentials to next level. Lamborghini Cnossus concept The designer: Victor Filipchenko, Nelson Simoes About the concept: Named after the ancient Greek city of Cnossus on the island of Crete, Lamborghini Cnossus is a design study of a supercar for the future. The brainchild of Russian students, Victor Filipchenko and Nelson Simoes who were inspired by Lamborghini Countach and thus delineated the Cnossus concept for their final thesis project at Italy's Scuola Politecnica di Design. Lamborghini Furia Concept The designer: Amadou Ndiaye About the concept: One of the conceptual proposals of Canadian designer Amadou Ndiaye, Lamborghini Furia concept is a replacement for Lamborghini Gallardo. The designer sticks to the core design language of Lamborghini while delineating the concept. Inspiration for the Furia concept also came from Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 and the concept is to get power from a 5.2-liter V10 engine that develops 550hp.  Apart from that, an aggressive design that can be seen in the form of a wider stance around the rear wheel arches, modified rear engine cover to make room for glazed roof, wider grilles that are integrated with a pair of discreet driving lights to enhance the cooling airflow etc. are among the prominent features. Lamborghini Minotauro Concept 2020 The designer: Andrei Avarvarii About the Concept: This good-looking electric Lamborghini is the brainchild of Andrei Avarvarii. Christened as Lamborghini Minotauro Concept 2020, the concept will be propelled by four electric motors that will split power in 30%/70% ratio to the front and rear respectively. The electric motors get vital juice from Li-Tec flat-cell battery and as there won’t be a big V12 engine house in the rear, it will help create space for third passenger in the central position. Lamborghini Timador concept The designer: Johannes Brandsch About the concept: By introducing the Lamborghini Timador concept, Johannes Brandsch aims to create a new kind of lightness for the next generation of Lamborghini supercars. Consequently, the design of Lamborghini Timador concept is an advancement of the actual Lamborghini design and features assembled body surfaces created by different overlapping shells, wherein the biggest one forms the shoulder of the car and separates the air intakes from the passenger compartment. Lamborghini X Concept The designer: Emil Baddal About the Concept: The designer of the car, Emil Baddal didn’t like the front fascia of the Lamborghini Reventon from the first days of car’s release and decided to design one to his liking. He designed the concept within a span of one year and named it Lamborghini X. The concept is based on the Murcielago Chassis and features a conventional normal aspirated V12 engine used in Murcielago. Lamborghini Insecta Concept The designer: Iulian Bumbu About the concept: Lamborghini Insecta Concept is a design study from the aspiring Romanian car designer, Iulian Bumbu, who holds the masters degree in car design from a Milan institute and had internship at Alfa Romeo's styling department. For the radical Insecta concept, as the name suggests, he borrows design elements from the bugs instead of bovines. Lamborghini Inseta concept blends organic shapes with Lamborghini design language and integrates themes culled from the body armor observed on certain species of insects. For the powertrain, Iulian looks up to Gallardo and comes out as a compelling successor of the current LP560. Electric Lamborghini Rompighiaccio The designer: Denis Archambault About the concept: With Electric Lamborghini Rompighiaccio, designer Denis Archambault tries to break the shibboleth that supercars can’t be ecological. The inspiration for the concept came from the snow sculptures created by wind in the Arctic landscape and from a wolf’s anatomy. The concept is imagined with zero-emission electric drive and won’t pollute environment a wee bit but at the same time it ensures the performance and driving thrills that its gas guzzling counterparts offer. Lamborghini Conquisto concept The designer: David Cordoso About the concept: Lamborghini Conquisto from David Cordoso, a Belgian designer, is a two-door rear engine mounted SUV/Crossover that seems to flex muscles with Porsche Cayenne. The design just makes us think how a Gallardo would look like if Volkswagen Group were to raise the suspension and re-body it as a two-door SUV.

Rusty Lamborghini Reventon replica from China is a labor of love

Lamborghini Reventon replica 4

It was just a while we wrote about Chinese love for Italian bulls. Here is another proof of that testament. Another Chinese lover of Lamborghini has built a Reventon supercar for himself. Well, Dailymail calls it labor of love and rightly so. Wang Jian, 28, from the Jiangsu province in the east of China has passion for cars since his childhood. Mr. Wang who is a farmer and a mechanic tried to build a replica of the supercar on a Volkswagen chassis last year but a small replica isn’t all he wanted. Consequently, he pursued to build a full-scale replica of the Reventon by welding the chassis and shifting the engine from the front to the rear of car before he finally comes up with this rusty roadster. Wang constructs the exact replica of Lamborghini Reventon that costs a whopping £840,000 in real using nothing but scrap metal and the cost involved in its making is merely £6,000. However, the replica isn’t a gushing beast as it has a speed that most of the bicycles can beat on road. The replica isn’t street legal either and is used to transport fertilizers only. Nevertheless, what do you expect from someone who has passion for Lambos but paucity of resources? This creation isn’t bad, I’d add surely, but an effort worth huge applaud. Kudos to Wang for giving his dream a shape on his own! [gallery link="file" orderby="rand"]

Lego Lamborghini Countrach

After introducing you to some of the coolest Lego creations a while ago, here is another addition to the long list and it’s mind blowing. The iconic Lambo model of 1980s has been re-imagined and recreated using Lego blocks. German member of Eurobricks.com who has a display name as George creates this amazing piece of Lego art. He started building one while using 1:18 Kyosho scale model of Countach as template, but used a computer program later on to delineate the construction of a grand scale Countach back in 2007. After three years, he started looking for necessary pieces of Lego to create this piece. After collecting the pieces and all the information, the artists assembled the Lego Lamborghini Countach in two weeks. This meticulously detailed model flaunts raised spoiler, rear air scoops and even the pop-up headlights. However, we don’t have the full information as to how many Lego bricks has been used to give form to this incredible piece of art, but the efforts are really commendable. Mitsubishi Eclipse as Reventon replica is a true representative of Lambo form

Mitsubishi Eclipse based Lamborghini Reventon 8

It seems, rather clear, that Italian bulls are ruling the roosts of common man’s heart across the globe. It is evident from the recurrent custom built, home built and scores of conversions pursued successfully to create Lamborghini replicas at home. Wang Jian, a 28-year old created a Lamborghini Reventon replica at home using nothing but scrap metal, used car parts and his imagination. Here comes another Lambo buff, Alexander, 30, from Odessa city, Ukraine. This guy has a childhood dream to create a Lamborghini replica. Whereas the Wang Jian’s Lamborghini was a DIY creation, Alexander didn’t created his from scratch. He used Mitsubishi Eclipse Coupe platform instead to make his dream a reality. This replica on Mitsubishi Eclipse remains Lamborghini in form only but serves well to the senses. However, if we compare them performance wise, even the top model in the Eclipse lineup produces a maximum of 265 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of peak torque which is no match to Lamborghini’s 6.5L 48-valve DOHC V12 engine in Reventon that produces 650 HP and a peak torque of 487 lb-ft.  Reventon features six speed automated manual transmission to get from 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds with excellent braking and handling and that surpasses the Eclipse in a similar way as greatest does to least. Nevertheless, what we appreciate this conversion for is a considerable level of effort to make necessary changes and fabrication process that took more than two years overall. Alexander started work on the conversion in 2010 and gave final touches to the project this summer. His Lambo is good to bamboozle illiterate souls on the road! Lamborghini Murcielago LP2000-2 SV TT, the stig

As if Bugatti Veyron or SSC Ultimate Aero weren’t enough, now the world needs another monster out of an Italian bull. Nevertheless, for those diehard Lambo fans who think Murcielago is too common and doesn’t cater well to your ever rising hunger to command more ponies, Covert Tuning Dynamics may give excess of it for your desire to surfeit and so die. Finally! After four years of research and development and a team putting in 3000 hours of vigorous effort in its making, the details of David Wiggins’ conversion on Lamborghini LP670-4 SV finally appears and are more than impressive. Christened as Murcielago LP2000-2 SV TT or ‘The Stig’ in short, the car was unveiled at the Pittsburgh Cars and Coffee Hanger Party. The conversion isn’t just about going from all wheel drive to rear wheel drive but it now churns out a whopping 2000hp, means power of a Bugatti Veyron in each wheel. Apart from boosting the power more than three times, Murcielago LP2000-2 SV Twin Turbo has custom ADV.1 wheels and its weight has been reduced by 550lbs through a weight saving program. Additionally, a new 12-inch exhaust system, five-inch cold air intakes, custom Garrett GTX-4294 twin turbochargers and everything under the hood is custom built. Furthermore, six-point roll cage, a sleeved cylinders, a strut brace, intercooler, some NASA heat shielding, a custom battery and custom sound system are among the other major details. Whereas the exterior is finished in matt finish and complete with carbon fuel door and matt carbon side mirror. [gallery link="file" orderby="rand"] Via: Gtspirit

Ondrej Jirec’s Lamborghini Perdigón concept is impressive indeed

Ondrej Jirec’s Lamborghini Perdigón concept

Giving shape to a Lamborghini concept, which is not only different from the current models but is worth the brand name is really a herculean task. But that surely doesn’t stop designers across the world to come up with their interpretations for the Italian automaker and they aren’t always different or rather say impressive but the one pictured above is. One of such designers is Ondrej Jirec who is a final year Transport Design student at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Ondrej Jirec names his concept as Lamborghini Perdigón and it’s impressive, I must say. Apart from following the Lamborghini tradition to name its cars after Italian fighting bulls, Lamborghini Perdigón concept is a hyper car inspired from Lamborghini Reventon and takes the stealth jet inspired design language to next level. Other than the sharp angles and polygonal surfaces that’ll make you think of F117 Nighthawk and F22 Raptor, Lamborghini Perdigón concept features distinctive design elements like large intake placed under windscreen and a fan like design inside that not only makes it appear like a jet engine but also adds more to the killer look of the vehicle. Inside, luminous interior that jell with its aggressive exteriors, high tech steering wheel that houses many command buttons as well as digital display that shows the gear selection, high center console to conduit air from the front air intakes to centrally mounted engine and accommodating i-Drive inspired control knobs as well as glass canopy completes the package. Designed to give a stiff competition to the likes of Bugatti Veyron, Perdigón concept might not see the light of the day ever. But it’s imagination worth commercialization and would have surely been a great addition to the Lamborghini lineup. Via: Diseno-art [gallery link="file" orderby="rand"]

2013 Lamborghini Aventador gets Start Stop, cylinder deactivation tech

2013 Lamborghini Aventador

There were reports originating on the web a couple of days back that Lamborghini eyes to reduce the fuel consumption of its cars in future. However, it’s confirmed now as the Italian automaker has announced that its Aventador supercar will come equipped with cylinder deactivation and stop/start technology to save some drops of dragon’s juice. Well, jokes apart, what lies in the center place of Lamborghini’s efforts to achieve the feat is the blend of cylinder deactivation and stop/start technology in Aventador supercar. The start/stop that functions through high-powered capacitors or what Italian supercar maker calls as ‘Supercap’ provides the 700hp V12 engine energy to roar again in just 180 milliseconds and that’s incredibly fast. The system saves three kilograms but there is no word from the brand as to what the savings are compared to. The Lamborghini Aventador uses the traditional battery to power the electronics of the car and lasts as long as the vehicle. On the other, Cylinder Deactivation System puts six cylinders of the V12 engine on rest at speed under 84mph and engages all the cylinder as soon as the driver presses the accelerator beyond 84mph. With both systems now Lamborghini Aventador sips 20 percent less fuel, emits less when the car is driven at 80mph and overall average fuel economy drops by seven percent, which is good by any means, considering it’s a Lambo. New setup will surely see the improvement in EPA cycle that rates Aventador at 11miles per gallon in city driving, 18miles on highway driving, however, there are no official figures available for the same. Lamborghini introduces Aventador LP 700-4 convertible

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 coupe is, undoubtedly, a huge success and people loved the sleek bull from Italian automaker. Lamborghini has sold more than 1300 Aventador coupes so far and it seems that Italian automaker is prompted by its immense popularity to create a roadster version of the same. It will, as Lamborghini expects, get a strong welcome from the Lamborghini fans. The roof of the Aventador LP700-4 is a two peace affair created using nothing but carbon fiber that makes it weigh merely 13 pounds. Though the roof is to be removed by hand, but the conversion from coupe to convertible takes a few minutes following an easy process. The pieces of the roof can be easily stored in the front luggage compartment. Also, the topless version comes with powered rear window and front mounted wind deflector that can also be removed and stored in the front compartment, thus allowing the driver choose the ride as per the external elements. Everything else is almost identical to its fixed roof sibling. Powering the convertible version is the same 6.5-liter V12 engine that develops a massive 700 hp. Engine is connected to seven-speed single-clutch paddleshift gearbox that enables it to get from 0-62mph in just three seconds with its top speed at 217mph. To provide that unmatchable sports car performance, the convertible version’s gearbox is combined with posh rod suspension while there is also an instant stop and start as well as cylinder deactivation system. Some considerable changes to the coupe version can be witnessed in the form of a different hood design that not only provides a better cooling to the engine but also drain off rainwater. The convertible bull will be sold globally with its European pricing at 300,000 euro (which equals to USD 381,000 at current exchange rate) excluding taxes and miscellaneous charges.
