Lamborghini introduces another topless bull in Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster
Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 coupe is, undoubtedly, a huge success and people loved the sleek bull from Italian automaker. Lamborghini has sold more than 1300 Aventador coupes so far and it seems that Italian automaker is prompted by its immense popularity to create a roadster version of the same. It will, as Lamborghini expects, get a strong welcome from the Lamborghini fans.
The roof of the Aventador LP700-4 is a two peace affair created using nothing but carbon fiber that makes it weigh merely 13 pounds. Though the roof is to be removed by hand, but the conversion from coupe to convertible takes a few minutes following an easy process. The pieces of the roof can be easily stored in the front luggage compartment. Also, the topless version comes with powered rear window and front mounted wind deflector that can also be removed and stored in the front compartment, thus allowing the driver choose the ride as per the external elements.
Everything else is almost identical to its fixed roof sibling. Powering the convertible version is the same 6.5-liter V12 engine that develops a massive 700 hp. Engine is connected to seven-speed single-clutch paddleshift gearbox that enables it to get from 0-62mph in just three seconds with its top speed at 217mph. To provide that unmatchable sports car performance, the convertible version’s gearbox is combined with posh rod suspension while there is also an instant stop and start as well as cylinder deactivation system.
Some considerable changes to the coupe version can be witnessed in the form of a different hood design that not only provides a better cooling to the engine but also drain off rainwater. The convertible bull will be sold globally with its European pricing at 300,000 euro (which equals to USD 381,000 at current exchange rate) excluding taxes and miscellaneous charges.
Lamborghini plans one-off edition to celebrate 50th anniversary
Lamborghini which was founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborghini will be 50 years old in 2013. What better way to celebrate the occasion than with a special car. However, as per the Lamborghini CEO, Stephan Winkelmann the special car won’t be a revival or retro model but one-off.
Lamborghini, which is now the part of Volkswagen Group, will hold Grande Giro Lamborghini in May 11th next year wherein it will ask the Lambo owners from world over to ship their cars to Milan wherefrom the convoy of the cars will go screaming through Tuscany, Rome, Bologna and finally to the Lamborghini factory at Sant’Agata Bolognese.
There is no word as to what Lamborghini is planning or on specifications either and all Autonews was told is that it will be a new car altogether with one-off design. However, we remember that Lamborghini released the special edition of Countach to celebrate the 25th anniversary, Diablo’s special edition for 30th anniversary and a special edition Murcielago for the 40th anniversary. So the current speculations include everything from a production version of Sesto Elemento concept to special edition Aventador as the Italian brand isn’t expected to reveal the Gallardo-successor until 2014.
The speculations are too many but the details of the real thing will not be confirmed until the official word comes or the car is revealed on 11th May 2013. Keep reading Autochunk and we will keep you posted with the latest developments on the same.
Robert Guelpen Gold Lamborghini Aventador Model LP700-4 boosts to a whopping € 10.5 million
One-off and a real unique 1/8 scaled masterpiece of Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 from the German designer and model specialist Robert Guelpen surfaced on the web in December last year. The scaled model Lamborghini Aventador which is embedded with more than 1,400 diamonds; platinum and pure gold was rated at a whopping € 3.5 million at an auction in NY in the same month.
However, the scaled model comes in the news yet again as Sotheby´s, one of the most popular auctioneers, has re-evaluated the cost of the model to a staggering € 10.5 million (USD 13,660,500 at current exchange rate) which amounts to 65 times higher than the price of the real deal. The material used in the making was estimated at € 2.5 million which would increase the target margin of profit from € 500,000 to a whopping € 8.0 million.
Apart from its stunning price tag, the 1/8 scaled model of the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 will make inroads to the Guinness Book of World Records for holding three records at a time: for being most expensive model car, the world’s most secure showcase and the world’s most luxurious logo.
Matte galaxy paint morphs Lamborghini Aventador into a galactic supercar
Those of you sports car lovers, Lamborghini in particular, who want to see them in different shades know that pink doesn’t jell well with a roaring bull from Italy. But that surely isn’t a rule in automotive world as some geeks never miss an opportunity to defy purists to bend it at every opportunity. One of the results is this Lamborghini Aventador wrapped in unusual paint with a splash of pink crystals.
Well, seeing an Italian bull (read Lamborghini) blushing in pink or in this case matte galaxy paint is a rare site. Nothing is unexpected though. However, such a paint job makes it fit to be parked at Paris Hilton or Katie Price’s garage and those who love rough looks with more muscles might feel little nervous to drive one down the lane but they shouldn’t forget it’s still a Lamborghini nonetheless.
Lamborghini to reveal its fastest supercar ever at Geneva
As the 2013 Geneva Motor Show is almost a month away, yet the news about vehicles to be unveiled has started popping up. If the news comes about a new bull from Lamborghini, it will surely get your attention. What if it is supposed to be the fastest Lamborghini to date? You will surely like to know more about this new development, provided you are an ardent Lambo Fan.
To the delight of many fans, an Australian auto publication, CarAdvice, reports that Lamborghini is coming to the upcoming Geneva Motor show with its fastest model till date. These details are slipped to the publication by brand’s design director, Filippo Perini, at the Global Dynamic Launch of the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster.
Filippo Perini also confirmed that less than 10 cars will be made, and most of them are already sold. While being asked why Lamborghini is doing this, Filippo was quoted as saying that ‘we want to shock the world with this new car’. The other logical reason is Lamborghini wants to celebrate its 50th anniversary with something special.
We have no idea as to how the supercar will look or what specification will it carry as Filippo Perini didn’t reveal any tech spec as such. However, the last outrageous car from Italian supercar maker was Aventador J which was, undoubtedly, a super slick Aventador with no roof or windscreen either. We guess something similar, design wise if not powetrain, can mesmerize the show-goers at Geneva this year.
Bull for the farms: Lamborghini’s reveals Nitro Tractor for 2013
Whenever we hear of Lamborghini, most of us think of ultra fast, sleek and exotic sportscars than tractors. However, the Italian bull started with farm equipments and that’s something it still continues with. To those of farm working people who are interested in a better designed tractor to look good while working, Lamborghini Trattori presents the stylish Nitro tractor.
Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, the medium power 2013 Lamborghini Nitro tractor features 4-cylinder Deutz Tier diesel engine which is aligned with either a five speed transmission or a 3-speed Powershift gearbox. To bring it to a halt, there are servo-assisted disc brakes. The styling features include LED lighting and a rugged looking exterior and interior cabin that provides a 360-degree visibility, courtesy to panoramic, convexly-mounted windows that are created from athermal glass to create an aura of a Sci-Fi movie.
The 2013 Lamborghini Nitro tractor comes with a Park Brake system as standard but if you have pockets deep enough to support your desire for more, you can fit it with a steering double Displacement steering pump to reduce the turn of the steering for quicker moves on the go.
